Dunkin’ Donuts set to Remove Food-Coloring Additive From Powdered Sugar.

Dunkin’ Donuts announced last week that is removing a food-coloring ingredient from its powdered sugar goods that contains the component titanium dioxide. Used to brighten white substances, titanium dioxide has recently come under fire for its use in foods.

Both the Food and Drug Administration and Environmental Protection Agency classify titanium dioxide as a nanomaterial, even though the FDA approved the use of it, they are continuing to monitor it as technology advances.
