A backyard blaze claimed two garages, a workshop, and a shed last week in Hamilton, NJ.
Firefighters worked to contain the fire with water, yet situations worsened when the blaze spread to a shed containing pool chlorine.
The chlorine sickened close to 50 first responders. Firefighters, police officers, and EMT’s were transported to the hospital, some with serious injuries.
The cause of the blaze is still being investigated.
