Honda Expands Recall of Takata Airbag’s by at Least 100,000 Vehicles

At least another 100,000 vehicles have been added to the ongoing Takata airbag recall by Honda. More than 5 million cars and trucks have been affected by the faulty Takata airbag sensors.

Honda has analyzed its makes and models to specifically pinpoint any additional cars or trucks that need replacement of the driver’s side front airbag inflator.

Additional vehicles that have been added to the list are Honda and Acura vehicles sold in the U.S., ranging from the 2001 to 2011 model years. These include 88,549 Pilot SUVs from the 2008 model year, 10,868 Honda Civics from the 2004 model year, and 5,454 Honda Accord sedans dating back to 2001.

Pilot has been added to the list of Takata-affected vehicles for the first time. Honda did stress that to date, no Pilot sport-utility has been reported affected by a faulty airbag that caused accident or injury.
